“Life is like music for its own sake. We are living in an eternal now, and when we listen to music we are not listening to the past, we are not listening to the future, we are listening to an expanded present.”
ALAN W. WATTS
An event is not a performance in the strict sense of the term.
It is a spontaneous musical response to extraordinary acoustic space that is both meditative and transcendent.
We do not plan or rehearse, but simply come together in the building or space and play for a period of time. We developed this idea with St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh as a way of playing in this extraordinary ancient building while at the same time engaging with its status as a sacred space. No amplification is used.
Generally an event is free, making the choice to listen an act of communion rather than consumption.
Some events are recorded and these high quality recordings are then available for sale online.
